Rare Otello Rosa San Polo “Cinque Cavalli“ Majolica Coffee Table, Italy, 1952

.Mid century Italian majolica coffee table created by Otello Rosa for the ceramic studio of San Polo, circa 1952.
The five horses (cinque cavalli) overlap on a ground of turquoise fern fronds.
Under the artistic direction of Otello Rosa some famous artists including Giuseppe Santomaso were active at the San Polo of Venice between 1951 and 1959.
There are minor ceramic chips (which we can restore if requested) ( see image 3 and 6) and 4 small glass chips that have been professionally filled with glass resin.
The brass plates that hold the legs have been replaced as have the vertical brass pillars that support the glass top.
Overall the table is in excellent vintage condition. Offered by Appleton
