Richard Hirsch White Mortar and Glass Pestle, 2010

Highland Park

Sorry, this product is no longer available on Dering Hall.

Contemporary American ceramic artist Richard Hirsch’s “Mortar and Pestle” made during 2006 – 2010 is comprised of hand sculptured ceramic, white marble and hot blown glass. “In his process, Hirsch is a reducer, endlessly honing and refining his forms to their simplest and most powerful presence. It is the same “less is more” aesthetic evidenced by the work of Noguchi, Brancusi, and Giacometti, artists he holds in greatest esteem.” Ships directly from the artist studio. Additional pieces of Richard Hirsch ceramic sculpture and fine art available through Highland Park, please contact the dealer for more information.

Currently, Hirsch is a Professor Emeritus at The School for American Crafts which is a part of Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. Fulbright Research Scholar Award in 2002, Hirsch has also received several Individual Artists Grants.
