A Spanish style Barqueno desk made by Alfonso Marina. The upper section with a fall front supported by two sliding shell carved extensions opening to reveal a writing panel and an interior with elaborately carved and inlaid doors and drawers, each gilded and with bone inlay. Adorned throughout with iron strapwork and flanked on each side by bale handles; the lower section in the form of a trestle base raised on pillar and barley twist legs inlaid and gilded in comparable fashion as the upper section.
