Ted Stanuga, "Dropped Often"
“Dropped Often” is a 2012 mixed media piece by Ted Stanuga. Stanuga captures movement and depth trough his brushstrokes and multiple layers of paint and pastels. A life of painting shows through in each of Ted Stanuga’s works, with each line and brushstroke thoughtfully marked against the others. Each work displays a love of painting for the sake of painting, and the use of form as an inexhaustible excuse to paint. He fearlessly employs wide ranging colors to resolve his compositions and maintains a prolific output. Each work brims with Stanuga’s elegant strokes and refined sensibility. Ted Stanuga’s work has been shown at Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Brooklyn Museum, The Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Tracing Space, a solo show of Stanuga’s work, will open on Friday, September 14th with a reception from 6-9pm. The exhibition will be on view through October 28, 2018.
