Bonnie Edelmans latest series was born out of experimentation during a family vacation in Uruguay several years ago. While driving through the countryside, she mistakenly captured an out-of-focus image. In this digital age, she was tempted to erase her error immediately but held off for some reason. Weeks later, she came across the image again and fell in love with its abstract tranquil character and vibrant hues. Since then, shes captured others in a similar vein from shorelines, boats and airplanes, resulting in the aptly named Scapes (Land, Sea and Sky), her latest grand body of work. According to Edelman, embracing this unique style has given her a brand-new perspective on the world, allowing her to envision it in blurs of color rather than restrictive details. Turks Water (2006), captured in the Turks and Caicos Islands, is available in three sizes. This archival-quality chromogenic print is face-mounted on quarter-inch-thick Plexiglas, then beautifully finished with flame-polished edges and acid-free Sintra foam backing. Each piece is signed and numbered. “Turks Water” must ship with our White Glove delivery service.
