Vintage Custom Usonian Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin Style Prairie Arts and Crafts Cherry Expanding Di
This table represents the lifetime achievement of an extremely accomplished craftsman/woodworker. Commissioned in the 90s by the only owner, to complement her collection of Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin barrel chairs available in separate listing. The table is based on Usonian principles of beauty, combined with notions of light, balance, and respect for nature found in Japanese design. Reverence of the natural world is clearly visible in the exquisite flame patterned cherry-unlike anything we’ve seen before. The result is an incredibly successful heirloom dining table that will be the absolute centerpiece of a modern, prairie style, traditional, Arts and Crafts, or Japanese/Minimalist home. The piece took many months to complete, at a cost of $15,000+. It was a treasured piece that has been kept in exceptional original condition. Without leaves, the piece is a handsome and substantial spot for daily suppers. Solid, hand grooved armatures extend like pieces of a sculpture or puzzle to accept the two large leaves at each end. Once the leaves are in place, the table becomes an exquisite, monumental, architectural delight that seats your largest parties. For shipping purposes, the table top can be entirely removed from the base. The dimension of the table without leaves is 78×44×30
