Werkstatte Hagenauer, Red Table Lamp, mid 1920s
On the verge of the Wiener Jugendstil to the Viennese Design the Werkstatte Hagenauer stood out the most. In mid to late 1920s Karl and Franz Hagenauer, Karl being a pupil of Josef Hoffmann and Dagobert Peche, began to reduce the shapes and ornaments of the Wiener Jugendstil even more and became one of the first real Art Deco designers. The blueprint of this table lamp seems to come from this time, bearing obvious resemblances to works of Dagobert Peche but with reduced forms and decorations. The lamp is in a very good condition and is marked at the bottom. It is fully operational. Offered by Kunsthandel Kolhammer
